A word on conservation

I’m not an ecologist, or a biologist. As a photographer I don’t understand the complex science behind our ecosystem. I’m not going to pretend to know the mind numbing formulas that determine how and when our planet and climate could change. However I can tell you some of the incredible spectacles planet Earth has to offer. Hopefully I can also show you some of these things through the photographs here. I want to make it clear that I don’t know the answers, and to be honest, I don’t even understand what is happening, but I can tell you that I have witnessed the devastating effects that habit loss, pollution, and deforestation can have on a species and an ecosystem. Human Beings have a special responsibility; we have been entrusted with the most precious and incredible aspects of this planet. Life. I do believe that we, as humans, should do everything in our power to protect the life on this planet.

It is my hope that my images are able to inspire people, to make them want to do something to help. I want everyone to see what is out there, and what we are threatening. I also don’t want people to think only wildlife and ecosystems of some far away exotic land are the ones threatened. We are losing habitat and destroying entire ecosystems right in our own backyards. I want everyone to look at the wildlife out their window and realize each individual has an incredible story to tell behind its life.
